We are delighted to announce the Cambridge Russian and Ukrainian Summer School 2025, organised in collaboration with Tangential Cambridge.

If you are interested in learning or improving Russian or Ukrainian, you are more than welcome to take part in our Cambridge Russian and Ukrainian Summer School – 2025.

A wonderful opportunity to combine an intensive Russian or Ukrainian course with the pleasure of meeting like-minded people!
Level of Russian: from beginners to advanced and fluent.
Participants: Adults and senior school students, including those in the middle of their A-levels or at the end of their GCSEs and those starting or doing a university course linked to Russian or Ukrainian history, politics, literature or art.

When: Friday 22nd August – Tuesday 26th August 2025 (classes on Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, and Tue)
Where: Murray Edwards College, Huntingdon Road, Cambridge CB3 0DF.
NB Participants staying in the College are expected to arrive on Thursday 21st August (any time after 2pm).

Typical schedule: 9:25-15:30 lessons (with lunch break); 16:30-18:00 extra-curricular activities; 19:30-21:30 evening programme.

What’s involved:​

• 20 hours of teaching in small, manageable groups.
• Developing all the linguistic skills: speaking and listening, reading, writing and grammar, in a fun and creative way.

• Strong focus on interaction, group work, role-play and discussions.
• Opportunity to enrich your vocabulary, learn idioms, brush up your grammar, immerse yourself in conversation and improve pronunciation.

Non-residential delegates (lunch and dinner) = £420
En-suite room & full board = £770 (Thursday evening meal is included in the residential fee).

Such summer schools have been held in Cambridge since 2016, at first focusing on the Russian language only; a Ukrainian option was introduced in 2022.
