He is currently an associate at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge and was Associate Professor at the \u00c9cole Sp\u00e9ciale Militaire de St-Cyr (France) in 2018-2020. Neil worked for ten years as a Professor of European History and Culture at St Petersburg State Academic Institute of Art, Sculpture and Architecture (The Russian Academy of Art).<\/p>\n<p>Neil is an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intelligence and Cyber Security, Academica Press, Washington D.C., since 2018. He is also a Senior Treasurer at Cambridge University Scandinavian, Russian and Austrian Societies.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Kent has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waterstones.com\/author\/neil-kent\/299580\">a number of books<\/a>, including\u00a0<em>St Petersburg<\/em>\u00a0<em>(Innercities),<\/em> Signal Books (Oxford), 2017,\u00a0<em>Crimea: A History,\u00a0<\/em>Hurst &amp; Co (London); Oxford University Press (New York), 2016. <em>A Concise History of the Russian Orthodox Church<\/em>, Academica Press (Washington D.C. and London), to be released early in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Neil fluently speaks eleven languages, including Russian.<\/p>\n<p>Language: English, Q&amp;As with Russian interpreting, when required.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This talk will focus upon the complex history, culture, religions and political role of Belarus in a wider European context, whilst also considering its recent internal developments and especially the role of its churches.
