Totalny Diktant<\/strong><\/a> is a world Russian language quiz in the form of a dictation. It is free, anonymous and open to all. It takes place simultaneously in many cities all over the world.<\/p>\n

This event was first organised by Novosibirsk State University and this year it is running for the 15th time.<\/p>\n

This year’s author of the literary text is a famous Russian writer Guzel Yashina. IN Cambridge this text is going to be dictated by Shamil Idiatullin<\/a> \u2013 an acclaimed Russian writer and journalist!<\/p>\n

Totalny Diktant<\/strong> in Cambridge is organised by Cambridge Russian Academy in collaboration with Cambridge Russian School and with support of the Cambridge Russian-Speaking Society.<\/p>\n

This year non-native speakers of Russian will have an opportunity to write a version of TD called TruD, which is especially adapted for students of Russian as a foreign language.<\/p>\n

Shamil\u00a0Idiatullin\u00a0was a political columnist for the Russian newspaper “Kommersant” for many years, and is the author of such books as a political thriller \u201cTatar Hit\u201d (original title \u2014 \u201cRucci\u044f\u201d, 2004), \u201cUSSR\u201d (2010), and\u00a0 \u201cUbyr\u201d(2012). His recent novel\u00a0\u201cBrezhnev City\u201d (2017) received the Big Book Prize. It is a story\u00a0about a 13-year-old boy in Brezhnev\u2019s Russia.<\/p>\n
