\"Total<\/a>Once a year. For anybody who can write in Russian.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cTotalny Diktant\u201d<\/strong> is an annual educational event. Its goal is to attract attention to the issue of literacy and develop the culture of literate writing.<\/p>\n

\u201cTotalny Diktant\u201d<\/strong> is an international Russian-language quiz in the form of dictation. It is free, anonymous and open to all who wish to participate. It takes place simultaneously in many cities in Russia and all over around the world (with adjustments based on the time zone), like a flashmob of its own kind: everybody comes to the same location, writes the dictation, checks the level of their literacy and leaves.<\/p>\n

The motto of \u201cTotalny Diktant\u201d is: \u201cIt\u2019s cool to write correctly!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This event was first organised in the early 2000s at the Novosibirsk State University by the student club of the Humanities Faculty and since then became a global event. This year it is running for the 13th time.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s author of the dictation text is a famous children\u2019s writer Andrey Usachyov.<\/p>\n

On 16 April 2016 \u201cTotalny Diktant\u201d will be held in Cambridge yet again.<\/p>\n
