She earned her Ph.D. from Princeton University with a dissertation on Vasily Aksenov.<\/p>\n<p>She has written a book on Nabokov\u2018s <em>&#8220;Pale Fire&#8221;<\/em>, a Russian translation of which was publsihed by\u00a0<em>Novoe Literaturnoe Obozrenie<\/em>\u00a0(2007). Another of her books,\u00a0<em>&#8220;How the Russians Read the French: Lermontov, Dostoevsky and Tolstoy&#8221;<\/em>,\u00a0also published in Russian translation, won an award for the best book of 2008 in literary and cultural studies.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Meyer published the first collection of Andrey Bitov\u2019s stories in English, has edited collections of essays on Dostoevsky, on Gogol,\u00a0on Nabokov and on Yuz Aleshkovsky, and has translated stories by Zoshchenko, Gogol, Bitov, Aleshkovsky and Zinovy Zinik.
