What a glorious day it was on Sunday in Thetford Forest, calm, clear, crisp, and glowing with colour. Some of us may have been frying, steaming, grilling, and pickling mushrooms ever since!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And here is an explanation, in Russian, why “svinushka tonkaya” (Paxillus involutus) is now thought to be poisonous, even though we used to eat basketfuls of them in our ‘happy Soviet childhood’… :\u00a0 why avoid Paxillus involutus?<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Marina Burrell, Anya Nerukh and Seryozha Schurov played the guitar; we barbecued everything we could, from prawns to courgettes; and \u201cchildren\u201d of all ages had a volleyball contest. Never mind the Russians, people from a very broad range of ethnic origins came along, from the Welsh to the Japanese!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
