Vladimir Yevgraphovich Tatlin<\/strong> (Russian<\/a>: \u0412\u043b\u0430\u0434\u0438\u0301\u043c\u0438\u0440 \u0415\u0432\u0433\u0440\u0430\u0301\u0444\u043e\u0432\u0438\u0447 \u0422\u0430\u0301\u0442\u043b\u0438\u043d) (December 28\u00a0[O.S.<\/a> December 16]<\/small> 1885 \u2013 May 31, 1953<\/a>) was a Russian<\/a> and Soviet<\/a> painter and architect. With Kazimir Malevich<\/a> he was one of the two most important figures in the Russian avant-garde<\/a> art movement of the 1920s, and he later became an important artist in the Constructivist<\/a> movement. He is most famous for his attempts to create the giant tower, The Monument to the Third International<\/a><\/em>.
