Internationally renowned Russian author, Ludmila Ulitskaya, came to Cambridge and met connoisseurs and lovers of contemporary Russian literature and her delighted readers in Cambridge, for an evening of literary discussions, questions and answers.<\/p>\n

It was a warm and inspirational occasion, full of reflexion, discussion, thought, and, for many local Russians, a liberating opportunity to relate to many like-minded people in our common tongue<\/p>\n

From a learner’s point of view it is better to read short<\/em> stories than full length novels because you do not lose the thread of the<\/em> plot and you can, more easily, read them more than once – eventually<\/em> getting a fuller understanding of them. <\/em><\/p>\n I find the \u0420\u0430\u0441\u0441\u043a\u0430\u0437\u044b <\/strong>to be hugely insightful, not only into certain<\/em> strata of Russian society, but, also, into the human condition more<\/em> generally. So it was a great privilege to listen to such a talented writer<\/em> and interesting woman.
