He still speaks Russian a bit, and he must have a lot of interesting memories of his time in Russia. David is also a great, popular science speaker, famous for his public lectures with demonstrations of the most spectacular experiments and on the history of science.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Professor David Phillips: <em>\u201cI will make the talk very general \u2013 a combination of my impressions of the life in Russia, the people I met, the subsequent contacts, and the science we have done.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>David Phillips is Professor of Physical Chemistry at Imperial  College London and the author of 585 research papers and a number of books in the  field of photochemistry and laser research. In 2010 Professor Phillips  received the Porter Medal, which is awarded biannually to the scientist  who has contributed most to the science of photochemistry.
