| £3Last year RBCC has marked its 100th anniversary. The organisation has gone through various stages of Russo-British relationships. Trevor Barton was invited to tell us about RBCC’s history and its activities in the current difficult political and economic climate.
The Russo-British Chamber of Commerce has worked to promote business relations between the UK and Russia since 1916. It helps companies and entrepreneurs in both countries find trading partners and investment opportunities and represents the interests of its members, who range in size from very large corporates to individuals.
The Chamber is independent of government, but enjoys good and productive working relationships with the British Embassy and Consulates in Russia, the UK government’s Department for International Trade, the Russian Embassy and Trade Delegation in London, the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and many other business organisations.
It has offices in London, Moscow and St. Petersburg, which provide up-to-date advice and market-entry support.
Trevor Barton, experienced senior manager and consultant with a background in law, finance and public relations and extensive experience of assisting companies of all sizes, particularly in relation to building their businesses in Russia and other developing markets through export and investment. Well connected in Russia and in the Russia-facing business community in the UK. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce for more than 15 years, and became its Executive Director in 2012.
